How do I Know if my Horse has Anhidrosis?
Some horses lose the ability to sweat gradually or only partially. The change can be gradual or complete. Anhidrotic horses often have an increased respiratory rate, experience respiratory distress, elevated body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure. This inability to dissipate heat can be very dangerous, and you should ask your equine veterinarian if you are concerned about your horse.
